Q: How do I know when the cheesecake is ready?

A: The cheesecake should be firm to the touch when it’s ready. You can also use a cake tester or knife inserted into center of the cheesecake to check if it comes out clean.

Q: How do I make a ube basque cheesecake?

A: Making a ube basque cheesecake is easier than you think! The process involves making a ube flavored cream cheese mixture, pouring it into a spring-form pan and then baking in the oven for about 40 minutes. Once cooled down, the cheesecake should be firm to the touch with a golden brown crust on top. To make the ube cream cheese mixture, you’ll need to combine cream cheese, eggs, icing sugar, ube powder and extract. Then pour the mixture over a prepared Graham cracker crust and bake in the oven.

Q: Could I turn these into ube cheesecake bars?

A: Yes, you can definitely turn this into ube cheesecake bars! To do so, all you have to do is prepare the same ube cream cheese mixture as above. However, instead of pouring it over a Graham cracker crust in an 8-inch spring-form pan, pour it onto a lined baking sheet and spread out evenly. Bake in the oven for about 40 minutes, or until golden brown. Once cooled down, cut into bars and serve!

Q: Can I make this dairy-free?

A: Yes, you can make this recipe dairy-free by swapping out the cream cheese for a vegan cream cheese alternative and using coconut milk instead of heavy cream. You can also try using a vegan butter substitute for the Graham cracker crust. To ensure it’s dairy-free, be sure to read the labels on all ingredients before purchasing.

Q: Will this be similar to an ube Japanese cheesecake?

A: No, this recipe is different from a Japanese cheesecake, which is usually lighter and fluffier in texture.

Q: How would I go about making ube flan cheesecake?

A: To make ube flan cheesecake, you need to prepare the same ube cream cheese mixture as above. Then instead of pouring it over a Graham cracker crust in an 8-inch spring-form pan, pour it into individual ramekins or custard cups. Place the filled custard cups inside a baking tray with an inch of hot water. Bake in the oven for 40 minutes or until golden brown. Once cooled down, serve with whipped cream and enjoy!

Q: Is this just like a taro cheesecake?

A: No, this recipe is different from a taro cheesecake. Taro cheesecake usually has a nuttier flavor and lighter texture. Ube cheesecake has a sweet, earthy flavor with a denser texture. Both are delicious in their own way!
