FAQs

What is the difference between pure vanilla powder and vanilla extract?

Pure vanilla powder is made from dried, ground vanilla beans. It has a intense flavor and aroma. Vanilla extract is made by soaking vanilla beans in alcohol and water. It has a more mellow flavor than pure vanilla powder.

What kind of flour should I use for this recipe?

All purpose flour will work perfectly for this recipe. If you want a gluten free option, you can use almond flour or coconut flour.

Can I freeze these cookies?

Yes! These cookies freeze well. Place them in a freezer safe bag or container and they will stay fresh for up to 3 months.

My cookie turned out dry? What happened?

There are a few things that could have caused this. If you used old baking powder, they may not have been as effective. Another possibility is that you overmixed the dough, which can make the cookies tough. Lastly, make sure you didn’t overcook them. Cookies should be golden brown and just set in the middle.

Can you eat cookies with braces ?

Most cookies are safe to eat with braces, but it’s always best to check with your orthodontist first. Avoid cookies that are hard, sticky, or have large chunks of nuts or chocolate. These can break or loosen brackets and wires.

What is the shelf life of these cookies?

These cookies will stay fresh in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

Can you put cookies back in the oven  if they are not done?

Yes, you can put cookies back in the oven if they are not done. Just make sure to check on them frequently so they don’t overcook.

I don’t have a baking sheet, can I use something else?

You can use a parchment paper lined baking sheet or a silicone baking mat. If you don’t have either of those, you can lightly grease a baking sheet with cooking spray.
