Ready for pumpkin spice everything? You might want to shop early this year, because some of your favorite fall treats could be harder to find. From early-season sellouts to supply delays, autumn 2025 is shaping up to be a season where timing is everything.

Early Demand Meets Supply Delays

Fall flavors are hitting shelves earlier than ever, and shoppers are snapping them up just as quickly. Pumpkin spice versions of Greek yogurt from Chobani and La Colombe Draft Latte arrived in stores in early August, with major retailers like Target, Publix, and Wegmans already stocked weeks ahead of schedule. As ABC News notes, some customers have dubbed the trend “Summerween” for its blend of late-summer weather and fall-themed indulgence.

Pumpkin Purée Shortages

If you’ve strolled down the baking aisle only to find bare shelves where the canned pumpkin should be, you’re not imagining things. While there’s no national pumpkin shortage, planting delays earlier this year have slowed processing and distribution. According to Allrecipes, the supply is expected to catch up, but in the short term, shoppers may need to make multiple trips to find their favorite brand.

Libby’s, the country’s top pumpkin purée producer, told Growing Produce that it has expanded planting to meet demand and expects more stock to reach shelves soon, though the company warns that it will remain “tight” through the early fall.

Fast-Food Favorites in Limited Runs

Seasonal menu launches are also facing supply limitations. Dairy Queen’s fall lineup, announced by People, features the beloved Pumpkin Pie Blizzard along with newcomers like the Caramel Toffee Cookie Blizzard and Maple Cookie Shake. They’ll arrive on August 29 but are available only while supplies last.

Krispy Kreme is bringing back its Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed Doughnut for a full week beginning August 11, longer than last year’s three-day window. As Allrecipes points out, these releases are intentionally short-lived, meaning fans will need to act fast.

The Bottom Line

Whether you’re craving a steaming pumpkin spice latte, a slice of pie made with rich pumpkin purée, or a limited-edition fall dessert, 2025’s autumn offerings may require a little more strategy to secure. Early releases and limited supplies mean that waiting until sweater weather truly hits could leave you empty-handed. For the best chance at enjoying your seasonal favorites, shop—and sip—sooner rather than later.
