Air Fryer Christmas Ornaments (Salt Dough)
Looking for a fun and easy Christmas ornament craft project? Try your hand at making air fryer ornaments out of salt dough! This recipe is simple to follow and produces adorable ornaments that will look great on your tree. Give them as gifts, too - they're sure to be a hit!
Yield: 12 ornaments
Materials
- 1 cup All purpose flour
- 1 cup Table salt
- ½ cup Water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour and salt.
- Add the water and stir until the dough comes together. If it's too sticky, add more flour; if it's too dry, add more water.
- Knead the dough for a few minutes until it's smooth.
- If you're adding color to your ornaments, divide the dough into as many parts as you want and knead in the food coloring until desired color is reached.
- Roll out the dough to ¼ inch thickness and use cookie cutters to cut out shapes.
- Place a hole (with a straw) in the top of each one before cooking.
- Remove the tray layer from your air fryer base.
- Place the shapes in the air fryer base and cook at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-15 minutes, or until the ornaments are firm and lightly browned.
- Remove from the air fryer and let cool completely before handling. Store in an airtight container.
- Decorate as you please the thread a piece of string through the hole and tie a knot.
