Where to Watch London’s 2025 New Year’s Eve Fireworks (No Official Tickets Needed)

If you missed out on official tickets for London’s New Year’s Eve fireworks, don’t panic — some of the best views in the city come with a table, a menu, and a glass in hand. From rooftop dining to riverside feasts, here are five standout food-led spots where you can eat well and still catch the midnight magic.

1. Sky Garden

If you want fireworks with a side of skyline, Sky Garden delivers. Expect sweeping views across London, plus a polished party atmosphere with drinks on arrival, elegant canapés, live music and DJs. It’s more refined celebration than rowdy countdown — perfect if food and views matter equally.

2. The View from the Shard

Watching fireworks from the UK’s tallest building is hard to beat. This New Year’s Eve experience leans indulgent, with DJs, flowing English sparkling wine, sushi, bowl food and uninterrupted views of the Thames at midnight. It’s pricey, but very much a once-a-year splurge.

3. Wagamama Southbank

For something more relaxed but still special, Wagamama Southbank offers a multi-course Asian-inspired menu paired with live music and a private view of the fireworks. A good option if you want atmosphere, comfort food, and a guaranteed seat when the clocks strike twelve.

4. Joia Battersea

Set inside Battersea Power Station, Joia combines destination dining with celebration. Choose between an indulgent tasting menu or a rooftop cocktail experience, both offering a stylish way to welcome the new year with fireworks glittering over the Thames.

5. Boundary Rooftop

Shoreditch’s Boundary Rooftop pairs a seasonal set menu with panoramic rooftop views. It’s a quieter alternative to the river crowds, ideal if you want fireworks in the distance, great food, and a more grown-up countdown.

Want to Watch for Free Instead?

If you’re skipping restaurants altogether, high ground is your best friend. Popular free viewpoints include:

  • Parliament Hill
  • Alexandra Palace
  • Telegraph Hill
  • Hilly Fields

Just note: Primrose Hill is closed on New Year’s Eve, so plan accordingly — and arrive early if you’re going free.
