FAQs

Can I make this recipe ahead of time?

Yes, you can air fry potatoes ahead of time and then reheat them in the air fryer or oven before serving. Or simply cook them right before you want to serve them.

How should I store leftovers?

Leftover potatoes can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. When ready to eat, just reheat in the air fryer or oven until warm.

What other toppings can I use?

Some other ideas for toppings include sour cream, chives, garlic powder, bacon bits, or grilled onions. Get creative and experiment with different toppings to find your perfect combination!

Can I make any other Christmas-themed things out of potatoes?

Yes! You can shape your potatoes into holiday-inspired shapes such as snowflakes, stars or bells. Or you could try using different types of potatoes for a more festive look. For instance, red potatoes for a Santa hat and sweet potatoes for a reindeer. Get creative and have fun with it! Additionally, you can use mashed potatoes to form small balls that resemble snowballs or even craft tiny potato figurines. The possibilities are endless! So don’t be afraid to get creative!

My potatoes were soggy, what went wrong?

There are a few things that could have caused this. First, make sure you’re using starchy potatoes such as Russet potatoes. These kinds of potatoes will crisp up nicely in the air fryer. Secondly, be sure to cut the potatoes into even triangles so that they cook evenly. And finally, make sure you don’t overcrowd the air fryer – cook the potatoes in batches if needed.

Can I use sweet potatoes?

Yes, you can use sweet potatoes in this recipe or even red potatoes. However, they may not get as crispy as regular potatoes. But if you’re looking for a healthier option, sweet potatoes are a great choice!

I don’t have an air fryer. Can I bake the potatoes instead?

Yes, you can bake the potatoes as opposed to air fry potatoes, simply cook them in a preheated oven at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-25 minutes.

What should I do if my potatoes are overcooked?

If your air fryer roasted potatoes are overcooked, they will be dry and crumbly. To salvage them, you can try adding some butter or cream and mashing them up. Or you could add them to a soup or stew to make a creamy potato dish.

Can I make these in the deep fryer?

Definitely! But maybe use a stainless steel skewer. I’m sure it will turn out great!! Be sure to keep an eye on them when deep-frying, as things can get heated quickly and the potatoes will burn. Also, be sure to use a heat-safe cooking tool such as tongs or a slotted spoon for safety.
