Sainsbury’s Has Cut the Price of Christmas Turkeys by a Third With Nectar

Shoppers still looking for a Christmas centrepiece may want to check Sainsbury’s, where whole British turkeys are currently being discounted by more than a third for Nectar card holders.

The supermarket has reduced prices across its fresh British whole turkey range, with savings applied instantly at checkout when using a Nectar card. The deal covers multiple sizes, making it suitable for both smaller households and larger gatherings.

For those cooking for fewer people, a small fresh British whole turkey (2–3.7kg) is priced at £12.38, but drops to £8.25 with Nectar. Medium-sized turkeys, weighing 3.7–5.99kg, are reduced from £21 to £14.40 when the Nectar discount is applied.

Larger households can also benefit. A large fresh British whole turkey (6–7kg), usually priced at £31.50, is currently available for £21 with Nectar, representing a saving of more than £10.

Shoppers say the deal is particularly appealing this year as turkey prices elsewhere have risen, and availability can be patchy in the final days before Christmas. As with many seasonal promotions, stock levels may vary by store and region, and popular sizes are expected to sell out quickly.

The offer highlights how loyalty schemes are increasingly driving real savings on Christmas food, rather than smaller multi-buy deals. For shoppers who already hold a Nectar card, the discount applies automatically without vouchers or minimum spend requirements.

With Christmas fast approaching, shoppers are advised to check availability early and be flexible on size. For many households, this Nectar deal could make hosting Christmas dinner significantly more affordable.
