McDonald’s has disappointed dessert lovers this week by quietly removing its brand-new Caramel Loaded McFlurry — just over a week after its much-anticipated launch.
The indulgent treat, which featured classic McFlurry soft serve topped with gooey caramel sauce, caramel pieces, and a rich caramel drizzle, was only recently introduced as part of the chain’s autumn dessert line-up. But to the shock of many fans, the limited-time item has now been pulled from the menu.
The fast-food giant has confirmed the removal, leaving many loyal customers confused and “heartbroken.” Social media has been flooded with posts from McFlurry lovers who either didn’t get a chance to try it or were planning to go back for seconds.
“Why introduce something so good just to snatch it away a week later?” one user posted on X (formerly Twitter).
While McDonald’s hasn’t given a full explanation for the sudden change, it’s believed the item may have been a short-run trial, possibly due to supply chain issues or low stock levels. Some have speculated it was part of a marketing strategy to test demand or create buzz around new McFlurry toppings.
Those still craving something sweet can take comfort in the rest of McDonald’s dessert menu, including the Oreo McFlurry, Smarties McFlurry, and other returning seasonal treats. But for fans of caramel, the removal feels personal.
If you were lucky enough to grab a Caramel Loaded McFlurry in its brief window, consider yourself one of the few — for now, it’s officially off the menu.
