If you’re dreaming of a show-stopping Christmas centrepiece, it’s time to talk turkey — and not just any turkey. Whether you’re going all out with a free-range bronze bird or looking for a more affordable option without sacrificing flavour, there are some standout choices across UK farms, butchers, and supermarkets this year.
At the premium end of the scale is Duke’s Hill, offering a whole turkey serving 14 to 16 for £161, or a crown version for £119 — ideal if you’re skipping the legs. Riverford Organics isn’t far behind with a 10–12 person free-range bronze turkey for £125, while The Organic Butchery has theirs at £129.
Piper’s Farm offers a well-loved, ethical option: a free-range bronze whole turkey for £110.95. Meanwhile, Wild’s Meat Company comes in slightly lower at £96.85, and Beacon Farms & Moreoffers a bird at £89.
Prefer something supermarket-sourced? Waitrose has a “No.1” free-range traditional paired bronze turkey for £100, while Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference version lands at a much lower £49.46.
But the best surprise might be Tesco, selling a free-range bronze turkey for just £30 — perfect if you’re budget-conscious but still want something special on the table.
With many retailers offering delivery slots and limited stock, it’s worth placing your order early — especially if you’re eyeing one of the free-range or organic options.
