Air Fryer Steak Fajitas

Steak has to be one of my favorite meats to use in the air fryer. It cooks up so perfectly and quickly and is perfect for these air fryer steak fajitas. The key to any good fajita is a nice sear on the meat, and the air fryer does that perfectly.

We eat a tonne of chicken in our house , but every now and then I like to mix it up and use steak. This is a super simple air fryer steak fajitas recipe that comes together in no time at all and is packed full of flavor. The perfect weeknight meal!

The best steak to use for these air fryer fajitas:

I like to use flank steak for these air fryer steak fajitas as it’s a reasonably priced cut of meat that has great flavor. You could also use skirt steak or hanger steak.

If you are using a cheaper cut of steak, make sure to slice it against the grain so it’s not tough to eat.

To make these air fryer fajitas, you will need:

Ingredients:

½ red onion: I used red onions because it adds a sweetness to the fajitas, but you could also use white onions.

1 lb steak cut into strips: I used flank steak, but you could use any cut of steak that you like. Just make sure to slice steak against the grain if you are using a cheaper cut of meat.

2 bell peppers: I used red and green bell pepper, but you could use any color that you like.

1⁄4 tsp Onion powder: Onion powder adds a nice depth of flavor to the fajitas.

1⁄4 tsp Garlic powder: Garlic powder is a must in any good steak recipe.

1 tsp Salt: Salt is a key ingredient in bringing out the flavor of the meat.

1 tsp Smoked paprika: Smoked paprika adds a lovely smokiness to the fajitas.

2 tbsp Avocado oil: Avocado oil has a high smoke point and is perfect for cooking at high temperatures.

Optional ingredients: flour tortillas, chili powder, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, lime wedges, fresh cilantro, shredded cheese

Instructions:

1. Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees.

2. While the air fryer is preheating, prepare your vegetables. Cut the onion and peppers into thin strips.

-For a little bit of heat to the air fryer steak fajitas, add ¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the spice mix.

-Leftover air fryer steak fajitas can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer or in a skillet on the stove.

-You could also use fajitas seasoning to make this quicker.

Substitutions:

-For a leaner steak, you could use skirt steak or flank steak.
