Air Fryer Poached Eggs

Poached eggs are traditionally made with boiling water on the stove, but you can easily make them in your air fryer! I know what you’re thinking. Poached eggs are completely fine made on the stovetop…why oh why would I want a air fryer version?! Well, while it may take a few tries to perfect the timing and technique, air fryer poached eggs have some distinct advantages.

First of all, you don’t have to worry about messing up a pot full of boiling water or dealing with egg whites that spread too far out in the pan. The air fryer keeps the eggs contained and cooks them evenly with no mess. Plus, there’s no need to keep an eye on them – they’re ready when they sound an audible alert!

Second, air fryer poached eggs can be cooked at different temperatures depending on how runny or hard you like your yolk. And lastly, since everything is contained within the air fryer basket, cleanup is a snap.

This air fryer poached egg recipe is a great way to enjoy deliciously poached eggs.

Here’s how to do it:

Ingredients:

  • 2 Eggs
  • Freshly boiled hot water
  • Butter
  • Salt & Pepper (to taste)

  • 2 ramekins

Directions:

1. Preheat your air fryer to 400F. (Do not miss out the step!)

2. Grease the ramekins with butter, then add freshly boiled hot water until they are half full.

3. Carefully crack the eggs into the ramekins and season with salt & pepper to taste.

4. Place both ramekins in the air fryer basket and cook for 5 minutes at 400F, or until desired doneness is reached (5 minutes will give you runny yolks, 8 minutes for firm).

5. Once done cooking, carefully remove from the basket and carefully drain out any excess water before serving warm with toast or a side salad!

• For firmer yolks, cook for an extra minute or two at 400F.

• If you want a firmer white, cook for an additional 5 minutes at 350F.

• Use fresh egg whites as they hold their shape better in the air fryer.
