Ingredients:

Air Fryer Pizza Donut ingredients
  • 8-ounce can of refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or other favorite cheese
  • ½ cup marinara sauce
  • 1 Tsp dried basil
  • ¼ cup pepperoni (smaller cut circles)
  • 8 slices of cheese
  • Spray oil

Apparatus:

4 hole donut silicone mould

Directions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 330°F (177°C).
  • Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a cutting board and cut into 4 equal-sized rectangles.
  • Place each rectangle of dough on the chopping board and spread the marinara sauce over each rectangle. Sprinkle with basil and shredded mozzarella and roll each rectangle up into a log.
  • Place the 4 logs in the donut mould and press it down to flatten the dough into bagel shapes.
  • Spray with oil and place the bagels in the air fryer.
  • Cook for 5 minutes at 330°F.
  • Using a sharp circular device, cut circles from cheese (for the top the donut). Start with the outer circle and then use a smaller circular device to cut out the inner circle.
  • After 5 minutes, remove the pizza donuts from the air fryer and silicone mould and top each donut with 1-2 slices of cheese each and pepperoni.
  • Place the pizza bagels back in the air fryer and cook for another 2 minutes at 390°F.
  • Take out of the air fryer and place on basil leaves and serve.

Recipe Tips:

  • You can use any type of cheese that you like for the pizza bagels.
  • If you don’t have a donut silicone mould, you can also shape the dough into bagel-shapes by hand.
  • For a vegetarian option, omit the pepperoni and top with veggies instead.
  • The air fryer is also great for crisping up cooked pizza donuts – just reheat them in the air fryer for 1 to 2 minutes at 400°F.

Substitutions:

  • If you don’t have refrigerated crescent roll dough, you can also use a pre-made pizza dough.
  • For vegan or dairy free options, substitute the mozzarella and pepperoni with plant based cheese and meat alternatives.
  • You can also add different toppings to these bagels like olives, mushrooms, onions, etc. for more flavor!
  • If you don’t have spray oil, brush lightly with olive oil instead.
