Air Fryer Oat Breakfast Loaf

For a deliciously satisfying breakfast, try this easy air fryer oat breakfast loaf. It’s quick to make and full of wholesome oats, all-purpose flour, salt and just a hint of sweetness. Serve it warm with a pat of butter and enjoy!]You dot even have to have this for breakfast; it’s also a great snack or even dessert.

Air Fryer Oat Breakfast Loaf

At the start of the week, I love to have any loaf ready-made so I don’t have to think in the morning/snacks.

For this loaf, all you need is some rolled oats, all-purpose flour, baking powder and salt. Then it’s just a matter of mixing everything together and pouring into your air fryer. In no time –depending on your air fryer – you have a golden, crunchy loaf that is perfect for breakfast or as an afternoon snack.

Air Fryer Oat Breakfast Loaf

Ingredients

Air Fryer Oat Breakfast Loaf Ingredients
  • 1 ½ cups oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs, whisked together
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup melted butter (or oil)
  • ⅓ raisins

Instructions

Begin by preheating your air fryer to 350°F (180°C). While the air fryer is preheating, prepare the batter for your oat breakfast loaf. In a medium bowl whisk together the oats, flour and salt until evenly combined.

Mixing all the dry ingredients

Add in your vanilla extract, whisked eggs and sugar – stirring everything together until everything is evenly blended together into a nice batter consistency.

Finally add in your melted butter or oil and raisins. Mix again until everything is thoroughly incorporated throughout the entire mix.

Mixing in the eggs and melted butter

Grease up an oven safe dish with some cooking spray or oil before pouring your prepared batter into it – making sure to tap down on its sides around any edges that may have developed while pouring in order to create even cooking across the entire surface area.

Batter poured in the baking tray

Place this now filled dish onto the middle rack of your preheated air fryer and bake at 320°F for 50 minutes before checking for doneness via toothpick test – inserting one in with care from top center of loaf then looking at results afterwards (no batter should be sticking onto toothpick when removed).

Recipe Tips

• Feel free to use either melted butter or oil as preferred – both options will give you slightly different flavor profiles but both can yield delicious results!

• If desired for added sweetness, consider adding about two tablespoons of honey or maple syrup into the mix prior to final baking step – just be aware that doing so may require additional minutes tacked onto cooking timer as well due to extra liquid content thus requiring longer cook time than what was initially given above!

Substitutions

• For those interested in adding additional flavors into their oat breakfast loaves such as cinnamon or cardamom powder (both great options!), feel free to substitute out part/all of all purpose flour listed above with these spices instead depending on preference – they will provide a subtle yet flavorful difference compared to traditional recipes! Just make sure not too much is added otherwise flavors may become overpowering instead!

FAQs

What type of oats should I use for this recipe?

For optimal results, it’s best to use rolled oats or quick-cooking oats as they will retain their texture and shape throughout the entire baking process. Steel cut oats are also an option but can turn out slightly softer in comparison!

How do I store this oat breakfast loaf after baking?

Once baked, you can store the oat breakfast loaf in an airtight container or wrap it tightly in plastic wrap – just make sure to consume within a few days of preparation as once cooled down further there is greater potential for bacteria growth which could lead to spoilage.

Can I add other ingredients to the mix?

Yes! Feel free to get creative with your oat breakfast loaf and experiment with adding in different ingredients such as nuts, dried fruits, chocolate chips, etc. If you do decide on playing around with flavors, just make sure not to include anything that will require extra baking time (i.e., harder items that need cooking) as these can throw off balance of overall recipe.

How long should I leave my oat breakfast loaf in the air fryer?

The recommended cook time for an average sized oat breakfast loaf is usually between 50 minutes at 320°F before checking for doneness via toothpick test – inserting one near center top portion then looking at results afterwards should leave no batter clinging onto it if done correctly indicating fully cooked loaf inside. Always keep an eye on it though as times may vary depending on size/shape of oven safe dish used when making this type of meal!

Can I freeze my oat breakfast loaf after baking it?

Yes, you can definitely freeze your oat breakfast loaf after baking! To do so, allow the finished product to cool off completely before wrapping tightly in plastic wrap and placing into an airtight container or freezer bag. This should keep your loaves fresh up to 6 months – just be sure to thaw them out sufficiently prior to enjoying again as desired!

Is it possible to make this recipe vegan-friendly?

Yes, absolutely! To make a vegan version of the oat breakfast loaf, simply replace the eggs with flax eggs (2 tablespoons of ground flaxseed mixed with 6 tablespoons of water) and use oil in place of butter – that’s it! The rest should remain the same in terms of preparation instructions.

Can I add additional ingredients such as dried fruit or nuts into my oat breakfast loaf batter

Yes – adding various types of nuts and dried fruits are a great way to switch up flavors from time to time when making this type of meal! Just be sure not to overdo it otherwise your batter will become too wet, requiring additional cooking time than what was originally given above. A good rule of thumb is to stick with no more than a handful (¼ cup) of extra ingredients added at any one time in order to keep texture consistent throughout!

What kind of oven safe dish should I use when making my oat breakfast loaf?

Any oven safe dish, such as a metal or ceramic cake pan, will do just fine for this recipe. Be sure to lightly grease the bottom and sides with either butter or oil prior to adding in batter in order to create even cooking across entire surface area!

Can I make these loaves ahead of time for future consumption?

Yes, you can definitely make your oat breakfast loaves ahead of time for future consumption – simply prepare them up until baking point then store in airtight container in refrigerator overnight before transferring over into preheated air fryer next day according to recipe instructions provided above!

Does the batter need to be stirred between cooking intervals?

It is not necessary to stir your batter during cooking intervals.

What are some ways I can add flavor to the oat breakfast loaf?

You can easily incorporate various flavors into your oat breakfast loaf by adding in spices, dried fruits (such as dried apricots or cranberries), nuts, shredded coconut, and even a bit of cocoa powder for something different. Be sure to stir everything together before pouring batter into preheated oven safe dish for best results. Additionally, you can always top with a few shakes of cinnamon sugar or honey just before serving.
