Korean Fried Chicken is a popular dish in South Korea. It is made by coating chicken pieces in a batter then frying them. The chicken is usually served with sweet dipping sauce.
Today on the blog we are giving our version of Korean Fried Chicken. Our chicken is air-fried, and coated in special brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and gochujang (Korean chili paste) sauce.
To make Korean Fried Chicken in an air fryer, you will need:
Ingredients
- All-purpose Flour
- Chicken drumsticks
- Salt
- Milk
- Lemon juice
- Spray oil
- Eggs
- Light brown sugar
- Guchanchang Paste
- Sesame oil
- Garlic paste
- Ginger paste
- Water
Directions:
To make the coating, mix together flour and salt in a bowl.
To make the batter, whisk together eggs, milk and lemon juice in a bowl.
Place chicken in the buttermilk mixture, making sure each piece is evenly coated.
Preheat your air fryer to 360.
Then, place the chicken in the flour mixture. Using your hands, toss the chicken until each piece is coated in flour.
Then again place the chicken in buttermilk again then finally the flour mixture .
Spray the air fryer basket with oil. Place chicken in the basket in a single layer. Make sure not to overcrowd the basket. Air fry chicken at 360 degrees for 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, make the sauce by whisking together brown sugar, gochujang, sesame oil, garlic paste and ginger paste in a small pot.
After 20 minutes, remove chicken from air fryer.
After 20 minutes, remove chicken from air fryer and brush with sauce. Return chicken to air fryer and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until sauce is caramelized and chicken is cooked through.
Serve immediately.
