Air Fryer Honey Roast Ham

I think I’ve found the key to an amazing air fryer roast ham. Don’t buy regular cooked ham – but smoked ham! There’s something about smoked meat that makes it incredibly juicy and flavorful when cooked in the air fryer. To add to the smokiness of this recipe, is the honey glaze. I love adding some sweetness to the ham, it really take this recipe up a massive notch! Let’s get on with the recipe!

Ingredients:

Air Fryer Honey Roast Ham
  • 2kg boneless cooked ham

  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tbs brown sugar
  • ¼ cup orange juice or pineapple juice

  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 1 tbs Butter

Tools:

Foil

Instructions:

  1. Begin the recipe by preheating your air fryer to 340°F. While it heats up, place a piece of tin foil large enough to wrap around the ham in the air fryer basket
  2. Wrap the ham with foil ensuring that the fold and facing the top so it it easy to unravel when cooking is done.
  3. Cook for 20 minutes on 340°F.
  4. Whilst it is cooking get a saucepan, add the honey, brown sugar and orange juice (or pineapple). Heat the mixture over medium heat until it boils.
  5. Add dijon mustard and butter to the saucepan and stir until combined. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Once the 20 minutes it up, remove the ham from the air fryer. Unwrap and spoon some of the glaze over the top, ensuring you get good coverage.
  7. Wrap the ham again and put it back in the air fryer for 20 minutes .
  8. Repeat this step once more, then finally remove from the air fryer basket and unwrap foil.
  9. Generously brush all sides of your ham with the glaze you prepared earlier.
  10. Place back in air fryer unwrapped on a higher temperature of 375°F for 5 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Remove from air fryer once again and enjoy!

Recipe Tips:

  • You can also add some garlic powder or herbs such as rosemary and thyme to the honey mustard glaze!
  • Adding some orange or pineapple juice to the glaze helps to add sweetness and depth of flavour.
  • Use smoked ham for maximum flavour – this will give a richer, smokier taste compared to regular cooked ham.
