Air Fryer Candied Pecans

Air Fryer Candied Pecans are a quick and easy treat that can be made in under 30 minutes! These sweet and crunchy pecans are perfect for snacking on or topping off your favorite desserts.

These air fryer candied pecans are really simple and only require a few ingredients, and it’s a great way to use up any leftover pecans you may have.

Why should I make these?

Well, first of all, air fryer candied pecan are delicious. These are not sickly sweet Candied pecans, but have the perfect balance of sweet and savory.

These sugar and cinnamon coated pecans are cooked in the air fryer until perfectly crisp. The perfect fall snack or holiday gift!

For this recipe you will need:

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cup of raw pecan halves
  • Egg white (from 1 egg)
  • ¼ cup of brown sugar
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon

Optional ingredients: ground cinnamon, cayenne pepper, salt, cinnamon sugar

Instructions

Preheat your air fryer to 320F. 

In a large bowl, whisk together the egg white, brown sugar, white sugar, vanilla extract and cinnamon until well combined.

Air Fryer Candied Pecans

Add this to the pecans and toss until evenly coated.

Spread the pecans back into the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring once halfway through, or until the sugar is melted and bubbly and the pecans are toasty and fragrant.

Remove from the air fryer and let cool completely before serving.

Recipe tips

  • If you want your sugared pecans to be extra crunchy, you can cook them for a few minutes longer. Just keep an eye on them so they don’t burn.
  • If you want to add a little bit of spice to candied nuts, you can add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the sugar mixture before coating the pecans.
  • These candied pecans will last for up to a week if they’re stored in an airtight container.
  • If you do not have an air fryer , you can make these stovetop by heating a pan over medium heat and adding the pecans. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring often, or until the sugar is melted and bubbly and the pecans are toasty and fragrant. Remove from the heat and let cool completely before serving. Enjoy!

For an easier clean up, use parchment paper/ baking sheet  liner to coat the air fryer basket.

Substitutions

  • If you don’t have any pecans on hand, you can use any other type of nut. Walnuts, almonds, and cashews would all work well in this recipe.
  • If you don’t have any vanilla extract, you can use almond extract, lemon extract, or even just a teaspoon of vanilla sugar.
  • Experiment with different flavors and find the combination that you like best
  • If you do not have brown sugar to make candied pecans, use maple syrup.
