Let’s be honest—meal prep can feel like a chore. You start off with the best intentions, but by Wednesday, everything in your containers tastes the same. That’s where your air fryer comes in. It’s quick, mess-free, and makes food that actually tastes good days later. Whether you’re prepping for the week ahead or just trying to survive until Thursday, these six air fryer recipes will seriously save you.
1. Air Fryer Chicken Breast
This one’s a classic—but it’s classic for a reason. Air fryer chicken breast is juicy, quick, and easy to season however you like. I love making a big batch on Sunday with just salt, pepper, and garlic powder, then switching it up during the week with sauces or toppings.
Meal prep idea: Slice it up and serve with roasted veg and quinoa, or tuck it into wraps with some hummus and crunchy lettuce. Done.
2. Air Fryer Meatballs
If you haven’t made meatballs in your air fryer yet, you’re missing out. They come out perfectly browned on the outside and tender inside, and they only take about 10 minutes. I usually make a double batch—some for now, some for the freezer.
Meal prep idea: Toss them into pasta, grain bowls, or even stuff them into pita bread with some tzatziki. They’re the gift that keeps on giving.
3. Air Fryer Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes are a meal prep staple in our house, but the air fryer makes them so much better. They get that caramelised, crispy edge you just can’t get in the oven—plus they cook faster.
Meal prep idea: Cube them up and pair with chicken, avocado, and a drizzle of tahini for the easiest lunch bowl ever.
4. Air Fryer Broccoli
Broccoli in the air fryer = crispy little flavor bombs. I could eat an entire tray of this stuff. It’s also one of the few veggies that reheats well without turning into a soggy mess.
Meal prep idea: Toss with garlic and olive oil, then store in your containers with rice or pasta. Bonus: it holds up even after a few days in the fridge.
5. Air Fryer Chicken Skewers
These feel way fancier than they are. They’re juicy, flavorful, and just a little bit indulgent thanks to the butter. I make them when I want meal prep that doesn’t feel like… meal prep.
Meal prep idea: Add to flatbreads with salad for quick lunches, or serve with rice and steamed veg for easy dinners that feel put together.
6. Air Fryer Hard-Boiled Eggs
Yep, you can “boil” eggs in the air fryer—and once you try it, you might never go back. No waiting for water to boil, no babysitting the pot. Just pop them in and get on with your day.
Meal prep idea: Keep a few peeled eggs in the fridge for snacks, quick breakfast boxes, or last-minute protein add-ins for salads.
Meal prep doesn’t have to mean dry chicken and mushy veggies. With the air fryer, you can make food that’s fast, crispy, and full of flavor—and actually look forward to eating it. If you’re tired of the same old prep routine, give these a try this week.
Let me know in the comments which one you’re starting with—or tag me on Instagram @theflexiblefridge if you make them. I’d love to see your air fryer prep in action!!
