5 Poundland Foods That Actually Taste Good (and Save £20)

Sharing is caring!

I’ve been looking for ways to save a bit on my weekly food shop without sacrificing taste. Poundland often gets overlooked for quality food, but there are actually some items that punch above their weight when it comes to flavour and value.

If you want to save around £20 on your food budget while still enjoying decent meals, you might be surprised by what Poundland has to offer. It’s all about knowing which products are worth your money and which to skip.

Poundland Sirloin Steak – surprisingly good and just £3.50

I wasn’t expecting much when I bought the sirloin steak from Poundland for £3.50. But honestly, it was quite decent. For the price, it beats some supermarket options like Asda or Morrisons, which can be pricier.

The steak cooked well and wasn’t too tough, which was a pleasant surprise. If you want a bargain steak without breaking the bank, it’s worth a try. You can read more about it on this Poundland steak review.

Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream – branded treat at a bargain price

I love grabbing Ben & Jerry’s for a cheeky treat, but normally, it’s pretty pricey. Luckily, stores like Morrisons have cut prices down to just £1 if you spend £45, which feels like a steal.

You can get popular flavours like Cookie Dough or Chocolate Fudge Brownie without breaking the bank. It’s a great way to enjoy something tasty and save a bit too. Check out the Morrisons deal if you fancy trying it yourself.

Frozen Chinese Takeaway Mains – tasty ready meals for less

I’ve found that frozen Chinese ready meals from places like Poundland can be surprisingly good. They save me a fair bit compared to ordering takeaway, usually knocking off around £20 per week.

These meals are quick to heat and usually hit the spot when I want something tasty without the fuss. You can find options like chicken dumplings or noodles at Tesco and Iceland with similar prices too.

Oreo Chocolate Snacks – a classic sweet fix

I always keep a pack of Oreo chocolate snacks handy for when I want something sweet but simple. The classic combination of crunchy chocolate wafers with creamy vanilla filling is hard to beat.

They come in handy during a quick break or to share with friends. I found a twin pack at Poundland that offers great value without skimping on taste. You can check out the Oreo Original Vanilla Sandwich Biscuits Twin Pack if you want some yourself.

Emerge Energy Drink – cheap and refreshing pick-me-up

I’ve found Emerge Energy Drink to be a solid option when I need a quick boost without spending loads. It’s got a nice mixed fruit flavour that’s not too overpowering.

The drink contains caffeine, taurine, and B vitamins, which help me stay focused. Plus, it’s really affordable at Poundland, so it doesn’t hit my wallet hard.

I usually grab the 1L bottle for a good supply, especially on busy days when I need a refreshing pick-me-up. You can check it out on Poundland’s site if you want more details.
