During the Christmas season, costs can quickly add up, especially when it comes to groceries. I decided to try a few simple swaps and choices from Asda Groceries to see if I could ease the strain on my wallet without missing out on the festive essentials.

By picking just four particular items from Asda, I managed to cut my Christmas grocery bill by £45. It’s surprising how small changes can make a noticeable difference when shopping for the holidays.

Asda’s 1.5kg Whole Crown Turkey

I found Asda’s 1.5kg whole crown turkey really handy for a smaller Christmas dinner. It’s priced around £12.80, which felt like good value for a British bird.

The size is perfect for two to four people, so no wastage for me. I ordered it online and got it delivered just in time for the day. This turkey crown offers a simple way to enjoy a quality roast without breaking the bank or ending up with leftovers.

You can check the current offers on Asda’s turkey crowns.

15p festive vegetables during the price slash deal

I grabbed some key Christmas veg from Asda for just 15p each. Carrots, sprouts, broccoli, and parsnips all came at this crazy low price.

It honestly helped me save a good chunk on my Christmas shopping. The deal ran from 19 to 24 December, both in-store and online.

Getting 1kg of carrots or 500g of sprouts for 15p felt like a proper bargain. It made choosing sides a lot easier on the wallet.

Yorkshire Tea bags with up to 30% off

I found Yorkshire Tea bags at Asda for a great price, with discounts of up to 30%. It’s perfect for stocking up without spending a fortune.

I grabbed a big pack of 240 bags, which kept my tea supply steady through the busy festive season. You can check out the deals on Taylors of Harrogate Yorkshire Tea 240 Tea Bags at Asda.

The quality and taste didn’t disappoint either, so it was a win all round.

Free From gluten-free gravy granules

I swapped my usual gravy for Asda’s Free From gluten-free gravy granules this Christmas. They dissolve easily and taste just right without any weird aftertaste.

It’s a great option if you need gluten-free or vegan-friendly gravy without spending a fortune. Plus, it saved me a surprising amount compared to other brands. You can check out more about these granules here.
